Title: Updated: Spring Weight Restriction #8

Date: 04/24/2017

Effective 8:00 AM Monday April 24th, 2017 weight restrictions will be lifted on all state trunkline highways within the entire State of Michigan.

State trunkline highways typically carry M, I, or US designations.

Weight restriction information and updates may be obtained by calling 1-800-787-8960.

- On routes designated as "All Season Routes" (green or gold on the MDOT Truck Operators Map) there will be no reduction in legal axle weight.

- On routes designated as "Seasonal" (solid or dashed red on the MDOT Truck Operators Map) there will be a weight reduction of 25% for rigid pavements and 35% for flexible pavements.

Extended permits will be valid for oversize only in the weight restricted area.

Single trip permits will not be issued for overweight loads or loads exceeding 14 feet in width, 11 axles and 150 feet in overall length in the weight restricted area.

Date: 04/05/2017

Effective ½ hour before sunrise Wednesday, April 5th, 2017 weight restrictions will be lifted from southern Michigan/Indiana & Ohio border north to and including US-2 Iron Mountain to St. Ignace. Weight restrictions are still in effect and will be imposed and enforced on all state trunkline highways north of the US-2 including M-185 on Mackinac Island.

State trunkline highways typically carry M, I, or US designations.

Weight restriction information and updates may be obtained by calling 1-800-787-8960.

- On routes designated as "All Season Routes" (green or gold on the MDOT Truck Operators Map) there will be no reduction in legal axle weight.

- On routes designated as "Seasonal" (solid or dashed red on the MDOT Truck Operators Map) there will be a weight reduction of 25% for rigid pavements and 35% for flexible pavements.

Extended permits will be valid for oversize only in the weight restricted area.

Effective ½ hour before sunrise Tuesday, April 4th, 2017 weight restrictions will be lifted from the southern Michigan/Indiana & Ohio border north to the Mackinac Bridge. Weight restrictions are still in effect and will be imposed and enforced on all state trunkline highways in the Upper Peninsula.

State trunkline highways typically carry M, I, or US designations.

- On routes designated as "All Season Routes" (green or gold on the MDOT Truck Operators Map) there will be no reduction in legal axle weight.

Effective 1/2 hour before sunrise on March 23rd, 2017 weight restrictions will be lifted from the southern Michigan border north to and including US-10 in Mason County in Ludington east to US-127 in Clare County then north on US-127 to M-61 in Harrison then east to US-23 in Standish, Arenac County. Frost restrictions are still in effect for the remainder of the state and will be imposed and enforced on all state trunkline highways north of the US-10, US-127, M-61 line.

Effective 1/2 hour before sunrise on March 8th, 2017 weight restrictions will be lifted from the southern Michigan border north to and including US-12 at the Michigan/Indiana border east to I-94 in Berrien County then north and east to I-69 in Calhoun County then north on I-69 to Lansing and continuing on I-69 east to Port Huron, St. Clair County. Frost restrictions are still in effect for the remainder of the state and will be imposed and enforced on all state trunkline highways north of the US-12, I-94, I-69 line.

Date: 02/17/2017

Effective 12:00 pm Friday, February 17th, 2017 weight restrictions will be imposed and enforced on all state trunk line highways from the Michigan/Indiana & Ohio line north to and including the Mackinac Bridge.

All travel underway prior to 12:00 pm on Friday, February 17th, 2017 may continue until curfew hour of ½ hour past sunset.

State trunkline highways typically carry M, I, or US designations. Weight restriction information and updates may be obtained by calling 1-800-787-8960. For companies located in Canada or New Jersey, information may be obtained by calling 517-373-6256.

- On routes designated as "All Season Routes" (green or gold on the MDOT Truck Operators Map) there will be no reduction in legal axle weight.

- On routes designated as "Seasonal" (solid or dashed red on the MDOT Truck Operators Map) there will be a weight reduction of 25% for rigid pavements and 35% for flexible pavements.

Effective 12:00 pm Friday, February 10th, 2017 weight restrictions will be imposed and enforced on all state trunk line highways from the Michigan/Indiana & Ohio line north to and including the entire stretch of I-196 in Allegan County at the US-31 junction in Holland easterly to M-6 easterly to I-96 easterly to I-69 Lansing and continuing east to Port Huron, St. Clair County.
